Goal of the research program
You may be eligible for DASH 4D if you:
- To find the healthiest dietary patterns for adults with diabetes that improve blood pressure, blood sugar, and other measures of health.
You may be eligible for DASH 4D if you:
- Are age 18 or older
- Have diabetes
- Are willing to dine with us for 21 weeks
- Participants receive four meal plans with different foods and levels of salt (sodium).
- One of the diets is a version of the DASH diet (a healthy diet to reduce blood pressure) which we adapted for people with diabetes.
- Change in blood pressure
- Change in blood sugar
- Other measures of health
- Receive all your meals from us during the study.
- Dine with us 3 days per week for 21 weeks by video or in-person in Woodlawn, MD.
- Learn how diet can affect your blood pressure, blood sugar, and heart health.
- Receive over 4 months of fresh meals, valued at about $3500.
- Receive up to $1,625 upon completing the study.
- Receive free testing for blood pressure, blood sugar, and cholesterol.

- DASH 4D involves performing blood draws and other testing.
